W02 Activity

  • Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams?

I think he was able to achieve those dreams due to his hard work and enthusiasm. Also, Randy Pausch mentioned that brick walls exist to stop people who don't want something enough. In other words, he was so perseverant that finally, he was able to go over those brick wallls because he really wanted to do so. For example, when Randy was a child went to Disneyland, as him I know that many kids felt impressed by the park, costumes and characters, but the difference beteween them and Randy is that he persevered motivated by his dream.

  • Do you feel that dreaming is important? Why or why not?

In my opinion it is really important to dream. By dreaming people is able to determine and create new goals, guide their lives and achieve what they really want. As I was thinking about this question children came to my mind  since they are a great example of a life full o dreams. They work hard but happyly because dreams don't let negative ideas come in; also, dreams make children and their families feel good during their journey because the path towards their dreams may let them help others. Maybe we should follow their examples.

  • Discuss at least one of your childhood dreams. Explain why you believe you can or cannot achieve this dream.

When I was 4 years old, I wanted to become a professional swimmer. I believe that I won't achiever this dream since my lungs were damaged so I stoped to practice some weeks after I received those results. When I used to swim, my teachers were really furious with me for stopping every so often for air, little by little I was convinced that it was not the best for me. Fortunately, I was able to recognize that swimming was very important to me so I will give it a try again.
